Bullying Awareness Week November 17-23, 2013

2013-11-07 Monster Jam Cam McQueen Meme - Modified KHP FooterThis week is Bullying Awareness Week here in Canada.  When I was a classroom teacher, bullying was one of the most common issues I had to deal with – it was also one of the most difficult.  It broke my heart to see what some of my students were enduring as they were bullied because of their race or religion, because they were new, because they didn’t speak English well, because they didn’t wear the “right clothes”, because their families were poor, and sometimes, just because.  That’s why it makes me happy to share this information with you about how the Maple Leaf Monster Jam Tour and Kids Help Phone have teamed up to get their message out to Canadians to Shift Gears. Stand Up. Stop Bullying. #BAW13  #MJstandup

As part of this campaign, Canadians are being invited  to take the virtual pledge against bullying by watching the video above featuring Monster Jam’s Northern Nightmare and Grave Digger drivers.  As a thank you for your support against bullying, Monster Jam is  offering a special limited time 2 for 1 ticket offer to Maple Leaf Monster Jam shows across the country in 2014.

  1. I was bullied when I was in school because IDK I guess I was different? Because I did good in school? Maybe because I was chubby. In any case it wasn’t cool and I wish that the teachers would have ever done anything. I am glad that it is recognized that it is a problem.

  2. I wish that the parents would take a more active role in the childs life. The bully is seeking attention the wrong way by picking on others.

  3. I was bulled a lot all through school because I was always the new girl that didn’t have real parents or nice clothes…
