As I write this, it’s -30 degrees Celsius and snowing like there’s no tomorrow. Mr Anderson recently had to shovel to get his car not only out of the driveway, but back in again. Friends are posting photos on Facebook showing hair, clothing and beards totally white from snow.
What I’m getting at is, yeah, it’s cold. Welcome to winter in Canada, right?
So it’s no surprise that January is known as National Soup Month. The holidays are over, it’s blistering cold outside – perfect weather for curling up at home with a warm bowl of comfort food and not going outside ever. (I know that last part isn’t quite realistic. But a girl can dream, right?)
Warm & Hearty Soup Recipes
I’m very picky with my soups. I quite often describe myself as “not a soup person” simply because not just any joe-blow soup out there is going to appeal to me.
That’s why I’ve gone ahead and put together this list. These delicious-sounding soups are ones I’ve tried and liked or hope to try in the near future. Hopefully most if not all will be welcome additions in your kitchen (and bellies) this winter. Happy National Soup Month!
