Salty & Sweet Creamy Snacks

Sometimes you crave something salty, and sometimes you crave something sweet. Or if you’re like me, you want both! Here are three recipes for salty & sweet creamy snacks that offer the best of both worlds making them perfect for a light snack or easy entertaining.

They are easy to prepare ahead and are delicious when served with a cold glass of champagne or this yummy spiced cranberry spritzer. Serve the Salty and Savory spread and the Avocado Lime Dip with crispy sourdough toasts, bruschetta crisps, or salty crackers.  Serve the Sweet Treat Spread with Graham Crackers, sourdough bread and fruit.

SALTY & SWEET CREAMY SNACKS

Prep Time: 30 minutes

Cook Time: N/A

Servings: 4-6

Ingredients:

Salty and Savory Spread

1/2 c. Cream cheese

1/2 c. Sour cream

1 English cucumber, grated

5-6 leaves fresh mint, chopped

3-4 leaves fresh basil, chopped

Sea salt, to taste

Olive oil, for drizzling

Sweet Treat Spread

1/2 c. Cream cheese

1/2 c. Sour cream

1T. Chia Seed

1/2 c. Strawberry, chopped

1 T. Honey or maple syrup for drizzling

Avocado Lime Dip

1 medium avocado, seed and peel removed, chopped into chunks

1/4 c. Plain Greek yogurt

1/4 c. Parsley, rough chopped

1 glove garlic, minced

2 T. Lime juice

Sea salt, to taste

For Serving:  An assortment of sourdough toasts, crackers, graham crackers and additional berries as desired

Directions:

Prepare Salty and Savory Spread

In a small deep bowl, combine cream cheese and sour cream.

Add grated cucumber, mint, and basil. Season with salt to taste, Combine well.

Spread on desired base. Drizzle with olive oil just before serving.

Prepare Sweet Treat Spread.

In a small deep bowl, combine cream cheese and sour cream.

Add chopped strawberries and chia seed.  Combine well. 

Spread on graham crackers. Drizzle with honey just before serving. 

Prepare Avocado Lime Dip.

Add ingredients in the order listed.

Process until smooth.

Place in serving bowl.  Serve alongside spreads with assorted crackers and berries for noshing.
